Tenere un blog e aggiornarlo regolarmente non è mai stato il mio forte a meno che non abbia scadenze fisse. Sto cercando di organizzarmi e pianificare i post perché le cose da dire e da mostrare non mancano, ma ultimamente vari progetti e pensieri mi stanno tenendo la mente e il tempo occupati, e il blog un po' per necessità un po' per scelta viene messo in secondo piano, a favore magari di social più immediati, come per esempio Instagram (se vi va seguitemi sul
mio profilo).
Avevo promesso un piccolo racconto del nostro matrimonio e di come l'abbiamo organizzato. Dopo oltre 6 mesi finalmente eccolo...
Keeping a blog regularly updated is not my strong suit unless I have fixed deadlines. I am trying to get organized and plan my posts because I don't certainly miss things to tell or to show, but lately some projects and thoughts are keeping my mind and time busy and I tend to neglect the blog in favour of more immediate socials like Instagram (follow me on my profile).
I had promised to shortly tell how we organize and how went our wedding. After over 6 months here it is finally...
Abbiamo scelto di fare un matrimonio semplice, senza troppi fronzoli, che ci rappresentasse.
Possiamo dire che il motore principale è stato comunque il risparmio. Non volevamo spendere troppo (e abbiamo speso tanto) per una giornata seppur così importante. La maggior parte del nostro budget (quasi il 50%) è andata per il banchetto, cibo e bevande insomma. Non volevamo il classico pranzo a più portate dove si sta seduti delle ore, ma qualcosa di più dinamico, visto anche che la location scelta aveva un bel prato davanti. Quindi un ricco buffet nel prato antistante la sala e poi grigliata (siamo una coppia mista, vegana e onnivoro... eheh) servita al tavolo con contorno di patate e zucchine.
We chose to have a simple wedding, that would represent us. We can say that we organized the weeding keeping in mind that we didn't want to spend much money (and we did spend much anyway), even for an important day like this. The main part of our budget (nearly 50%) was allocated for food and drinks. We didn't want the classic wedding where you sit for hours, but something more dinamic, also considering that the location had a wonderful lawn. Therefore we went for a rich buffet and then barbeque served at the table (we are a mixed couple - vegan and omnivore) with roasted potatoes and zucchini.
Il vino lo abbiamo comprato dal nostro contadino di fiducia, mitico Walter, facendoci riempire le bag in box, poi alla location lo hanno versato nelle brocche di vetro.
Abbiamo scelto di invitare per il pranzo solo i parenti più stretti e pochi amici (i testimoni con accompagnatori, la celebrante e famiglia, i nostri amici musicisti), e già così eravamo in una sessantina, mentre gli altri amici e parenti sono arrivati il tardo pomeriggio per la torta.
Inviti, segnaposto, tableau, centrotavola e le altre -poche- decorazioni sono state tutte fatte a mano con l'aiuto di mia mamma (e anche del marito dai ;-)).
Per il tableu sono andata a elemosinare dalle nonne dei vecchi centrini, li ho montati su telai a cerchio e assemblati, ho stampato i tavoli su alcuni cartoncini che ho poi attaccato con una mollettina di legno. Come sfondo un pallet di legno.
We bought wine from a local farmer who put it in bag-in-box packaging, then at the restaurant they poured it into glass jugs.
We chose to invite for lunch only the closest relatives and friends, we were around 60, while all the other friends and relatives came later for the cake.
Invitations, place cards, tableau, centerpieces and the other few decorations have all been handmade by me with the help of my mother (and a little help from my husband)
For the tableau I collected old doilies from my grandmas, I mounted them on round looms and put them all together using a pallet as a base. The cards with the tables have been attached with a wooden clothespin.
Per centrotavola piante aromatiche di tutti i tipi confezionate in un sacchetto per pane e vasetti con candele, il tutto decorato con rafia e nastri di pizzo.
I segnaposto hanno svolto doppia funzione, diventando anche bomboniera: abbiamo inserito in confetti in vasetti di vetro con tappo in sughero e decorato con rafia e nastri di pizzo. Sopra al tappo un cuore di pasta sale fatto da mia mamma. Stampato i nostri nomi e la data su un cartoncino tagliato poi a bandierina e montato su uno stuzzicadenti e scritto a mano il nome di ciascun invitato. Lo stuzzicadenti è stato poi infilato nel tappo.
As centerpieces we used vases of fresh herbs (rosemary, mint, basil, sage, lemon balm, etc.) put into bread bags and some little jars with candles, all decorated with raphia and lace ribbon.
Place card functioned as party favors too: some small glass jars with Jordan almonds closed by a cork lid with a heart made by my mother with homemade modeling paste. I printed our names and date on a cardboard then cut as a flag and pasted to a toothpick and I wrote by hand the names of the guests. The toothpick was then inserted in the cork lid.
Per gli inviti ho preso ispirazione dai vari modelli che si vedono online confezionati con centrini di carta.
Avrei voluto fare tante altre cose ma non avevo nessuna intenzione di stressare me, marito e aiutanti vari nei giorni precedenti per delle semplici decorazioni che probabilmente avrei notato solo io... :-)
E poi la location da sola ha fatto davvero tanto con i suoi meravigliosi roseti e l'allestimento, sempre comunque semplice, dei gestori.
Ho trovato il vestito in una boutique (non atelier, dove avevano dei prezzi folli) e fatto fare una piccola modifica sulla schiena, le scarpe in un normalissimo negozio e ho speso meno di 1.000 €, inclusi gli orecchini di pura bigiotteria, che comunque io non ne indosso solitamente.
For the invitations I took inspiration from a current trend on the internet, using doilies.
I would have loved to do other decorations but I didn't want to stress me, my husband and other people out for some simple decorations that probably nobody even notices... ;-)
And in the end, the location itself was really beautiful with its roses and the simple yet stunning set-up.
I found my dress in a boutique (aterliers have crazy prices in my opinion) and asked for a little modification on the back, bought the shoes in a normal shoe store and paid less than 1.000 € included the earrings, costume jewellery because I don't wear earrings usually.

Credo che ogni coppia di sposi possa affermare che il giorno del proprio matrimonio sia stato il giorno migliore e il più bello della propria vita... beh noi non facciamo eccezione. È stato tutto impeccabile (tranne un piccolo problemino con la torta).
La sera prima abbiamo fatto una cena con testimoni ed amici, poi ancora delle piccole cose da sistemare nella sala dove si sarebbe svolta la cerimonia e poi, finalmente, il meritato riposo prima del grande giorno. Io, la mia testimone e mia mamma abbiamo dormito nello splendido b&b "La casa al Fienile" egregiamente gestito dai nostri amici Michela e Lorenzo, un piccolo tesoro ricavato in un maso dove Michela coltiva e vende ortaggi e frutta biologici.
Il mattino dopo la sveglia non è dovuta nemmeno suonare, alle 7 eravamo tutte già sveglie (io, contrariamente a quanto mi avevano raccontato tutti, non ero per nulla agitata), con calma ci siamo alzate, abbiamo fatto colazione e poi sono partiti i preparativi: parrucchiera per una semplice acconciatura, trucco self-made e infine, mentre si avvicinava mezzogiorno, l'abito, che mamma e testimone mi hanno aiutata ad indossare. Infine gli accessori, orecchini, scarpe (a lungo cercate e infine trovate da Deichemann ad un prezzo irrisorio) e giarrettiera regalatami da mia mamma. Poi finalmente il momento di partire, scortata dal mio zione.
I think every couple could say that the day of their wedding was the best day of their lives.... well, we're no exception. Everything was impeccable (except for a little problem with the cake).
The evening before we went out for dinner with our witnesses and some friends, then some more details to set up in the wedding room and finally the deserved rest before the big day. My witness, my mother and me slept in a wonderful b&b.
The morning after we were all awake by 7, contrary to what I had been told I was not agitated at all. We had breakfast and then started preparing: hairdresser for a simple hairdo, self-made make up and finally the dress and all the last accessories: earrings, shoes and garter.
At nearly noon time to leave with my uncle.
Ecco, se nei giorni precedenti e la mattina non ero nemmeno lontanamente agitata, nel momento in cui abbiamo imboccato la stradina dove si trovava la sala comunale ho sentito una forte emozione. Da lì in poi è stato un turbine di emozioni fantastiche: avere intorno e insieme a noi le persone che amiamo, la nostra amica a celebrare il matrimonio, mia mamma e i nostri amici a suonare durante la cerimonia e poi durante la festa, i sorrisi, gli abbracci e le parole, tante risate e qualche lacrimuccia, e ovviamente noi due a prometterci amore.
Per il banchetto abbiamo scelto una soluzione che permettesse a tutti di avere ampio margine di movimento e libertà: ricco buffet nel prato, con possibilità di sedersi all'ombra, poi grigliata con contorni servita al tavolo all'interno della fresca sala. A fine pasto le foto di rito con parenti, una veloce passeggiata tra i vigneti circostanti per qualche foto e un momento noi due soli, e poi musica. I nostri amici avevano già preparato impianto e strumenti e quindi c'è stato un susseguirsi di musicisti, io e mia mamma a cantare e amici e parenti a ballare.
Abbiamo trovato sul web un'idea carina come guestbook: un dizionario dove gli invitati hanno potuto scrivere un pensiero o un augurio, e leggerlo dopo è stato bello e divertente!
C'è stata un'atmosfera di affetto e di amicizia palpabile durante tutto il giorno. Una giornata davvero indimenticabile.
When we entered the street where there's the wedding room I started to get excited. From that moment on a rush of wonderful emotions: our loved ones around us, our friend celebrating the wedding, my mom and our friends playing and singing and during the party all the smiles, hugs, nice words, many laughters and some tears, and obviously the two of us vowing mutual love.
For the banquet we chose a solution that would allow everybody to move freely: a rich buffet in the lawn, with the possibility to sit in the shadow, then barbeque with side dishes served inside the fresh dining room. After that a session of photos with relatives and friends, a quick stroll in the vineyard just me and him for some photos, and then music. Our friends had already prepared instruments and speakers and thus we had many musicians in and out palying and singing, me and my mom singing and friends and relatives dancing.
We found in the web a nice idea for the guestbook: a dictionary were the guests could write a wish or a thought, and reading it the day after was fun and heartwarming.
There was a magical atmosphere soaked with love and friendship throughout all day. A really unforgettable day.
Sto continuando con il mio album di matrimonio "casalingo", molto semplice anche quello, fatto sul mio Manudori.
Non ci saranno tutte tutte le foto, per quelle ho già pronto un classico album, comunque fatto a mano, regalatoci proprio per il matrimonio.
